1 Speaking words of life and love
Rev Jenny Busch is Uniting Church chaplain at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in South Brisbane. This is holy ground and I am learning to walk tenderly and reverently in and out of rooms and families and situations. My prayer is that, somehow, my presence might remind people—sick children, family members, other visitors and staff—of the presence of Christ.

2 Ministry crosses the ranks
Rev John Dansie, army chaplain I have had many fruitful conversations about relationship development, family stuff, career goals, and faith. The real gift of army chaplaincy is the freedom to move anywhere within the unit and to be able to talk with anyone from a private to the commanding officer

3 This is the season of caring
Phil Smith is a community pastor and the Protestant campus minister at Unity College, Caloundra The patron saint of chaplaincy, Martin of Tours was a Roman cavalry officer who encountered a homeless man/wounded soldier/beggar. He covered the man with his chaplaine [and] stayed to care for him until he was well enough to continue alone. Chaplaincy for students in crisis often involves care that supports a family for a season.

4 Speaking into young lives
Stephanie Cotroneo is primary chaplain at Moreton Bay College. For many of our students, the primary school chaplain is their first contact with a person who openly speaks about faith, grace and beliefs … [thus] ministry to the family has a ripple effect, from our chapel, classroom and school into the family and beyond.
