What is an LCAP? The LCAP, or Local Control Accountability Plan, is a school district’s guiding plan for the current school year, plus the next two. It details the specific actions that will be taken and the LCFF expenditures that will be made to meet the needs of students!

The development of a successful LCAP depends on receiving and responding to input from a variety of stakeholders, including: TEACHERS SUPPORT STAFF COMMUNITY MEMBERS PARENTS ADMINISTRATORS STUDENTS IN SHORT, EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THEIR VOICE HEARD!

What does RUSD do to Engage our Stakeholders?
LCAP PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE STUDENT FOCUS GROUPS CONSULTATIONS WITH TEACHERS AND SUPPORT STAFF SURVEYS FOR TEACHERS, SUPPORT STAFF, PARENTS, AND STUDENTS MEETINGS WITH PTO/PTC AND SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL LEADERSHIP AND…COMMUNITY OUTREACH EVENTS SUCH AS THIS!

What do we do with the input?
We develop actions that relate to safety, curriculum, staffing, class size, professional development, technology, facilities, etc. But…what does it really look like?

RUSD Goals and Actions GOAL 1 - The District will enhance and encourage learning for all students, increase pupil engagement, and improve pupil learning... Actions: Lower class sizes in K-3 Project Lead the Way STEM classes in middle schools Lifeskills instruction World Languages for students in 6th – 8th

RUSD Goals and Actions GOAL 2 – The District will provide an innovative and engaging learning environment that effectively integrates the use of technology into the teaching and learning process… Actions: Computer Science instruction for all Teachers on Special Assignment (TOSAs) to support technology instruction Python coding classes and app design and development with MIT App Inventor

RUSD Goals and Actions GOAL 3 – The District will support the teaching and learning process… Actions: Training for teachers Training for instructional assistants and library media clerks Support relationship building and customer service Provide new curriculum aligned with new standards

RUSD Goals and Actions GOAL 4 – The District will enhance and encourage learning for all subgroups of students including English learners, Foster Youth, and socio-economically disadvantaged students… Actions: Funds to provide additional intervention at every school site Anti-bullying programs Additional counseling services Bilingual para-educators and community liaison for El students AVID at Pleasant Grove

RUSD Goals and Actions GOAL 5 – The District will attract and retain diverse, knowledgeable, dedicated employees who are trained and supported in their commitment to provide quality education… Actions: Hire fully qualified teachers Support classified employees with job specific training Support teachers through the Peer Assistance and Review process

RUSD Goals and Actions GOAL 6 – The District will create and maintain facilities and grounds that are safe, clean and conducive to the learning process. Actions: Rebuild the track and field at Pleasant Grove Rebuild the field at Marina Village Work with the El Dorado Hills Community Services District to develop and maintain additional fields.
