SIAS
The Shared Internal Audit (SIAS) has been providing an Internal Audit service to Hertfordshire County Council and its schools since July SIAS was formed from an amalgamation of the internal audit sections of the county council and five of Hertfordshire’s districts. HCC’s Internal Audit section had previously been delivering school audit since 1991

SIAS provides Internal Audit Services tailored to meet your requirements. SIAS
auditors are professionally qualified and have many years’ experience of
working with schools and academies. SIAS also has a wide range of experts available including IT, procurement, anti-fraud and corruption.

Internal Audit provides objective assurance, assessment and advice on risk and internal control, including financial control, in support of the achievement of academy objectives.
We offer a range of Internal Audit services to support a finance or audit committee. The service would be tailored to the needs of the finance / audit committee and take account of the size of the academy and risks to its financial controls.

Bespoke Internal Audit Service
Audits of financial and non-financial systems and processes
Advice and assurance in relation to new systems development and implementation (including ICT and non ICT systems)
Training for staff and governors in relation to risk, governance and internal control
Supporting the development and maintenance of effective risk management
Specialist Audits
ICT audit reviews, including security and safeguarding of data
Investigations into suspected financial and non financial irregularity
Procurement, contract and project management reviews
Charges
Bespoke Audit Service - £350 per day. A typical secondary school with audit committee would require a 4 – 5 day per annum contract.
Internal Control Checks - £300 per day. A minimum requirement of 3-day per annum is advised.
Specialist Audit Service - £400 per day.
All charges are exclusive of VAT.
