Childhood Vaccinations: Yes or No?
"While infant and childhood vaccinations remain a rite of passage for babies born in the United States and most other countries, there is a growing trend by concerned parents of questioning this practice." YES for Vaccinations The diseases that they vaccinate against can be deadly- not just to the person who didn't get the vaccine, but the family and friends they expose them to. No vaccine is 100%, but the more we vaccinate people, the less likely they are to catch or spread the disease. Take Whooping Cough for example - Kansas City is actually experiencing an outbreak of it, and while it doesn't generally kill those in the "middle ages (12 yo to 60) it can kill those younger (especially those under 2, and those over 65). The reason we're having an outbreak? People aren't vaccinating like they should. Vaccination Facts Vaccines contain antigens that cause diseases. However, the antigens in vaccines are weakened or killed. These antibodies help protect you if you are exposed to the disease in the future. Thimerosal is a mercury-containing preservative used in some vaccines and other products since the 1930’s On average 16 preventative vaccinations are recommended for children..(2006) NO for Vaccinations There are legitimate reasons for not vaccinating- severe allergies are one. Not all vaccines trigger egg allergies, but this can be a Reason to avoid flu vaccinations for children. Fear of vaccination induced autism is the greatest cause for parents to avoid vaccinations. Chiropractors are the most opposed physician to vaccinations. 1 of 3 are opposed to vaccinations. Vaccinations do not always work. Some people do not become immune. Immunity can also be lost over time. Vaccine recalls are cause for concern Equipment contamination case from Merck.
