Jay Inslee is a fifth-generation Washingtonian who grew up in the Seattle area. He has served as the 23rd Governor of Washington since January Before becoming governor, Jay Inslee represented Washington State in the US House of Representatives for 15 years.

Bonnie Dubar was born on March 3, 1949, in Sunnyside. After years of experience as an accomplished pilot, scientist and engineer, she began her journey as a NASA astronaut. Bonnie Dunbar has been an officer on five space missions, spending more than fifty days in space.

Adam West was born on September 19, in Walla Walla, Washington. He is an actor whose career spans six decades. Although he has over 60 movie and over 80 television appearances, he is most famously known for his role as Batman, in the wildly popular ABC-TV series.

Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle on November 27th As a guitarist, singer, and songwriter, he delighted audiences in the 1960s. Widely recognized as one of the most creative and influential musicians of the 20th century, Jimi Hendrix pioneered the explosive possibilities of the electric guitar.

9 Hope Solo SOCCER GOALKEEPER RICHLAND, WA
Hope Solo was born in Richland on July 30, As a student at Richland High School, she scored 109 goals position and was twice named an All-American. At the University of Washington, Solo moved into the goalkeeper spot for the Huskies. She is a two-time soccer Olympic gold medalist, and a World Cup champion.

Chester Floyd Carlson was a physicist and inventor born in Seattle, Washington. He is best known for having invented the Xerox machine, which used a process of electrophotography, to produce a “dry copy” of a document.

Karan Brar, originally from Redmond, Washington, plays the part of Ravi on the hit Disney Channel series “Jessie.” He also won the Young Artist Award three years in a row for his roles in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies.

FIRST FEMALE MAYOR Bertha Ethel Knight Landes was the first female mayor of a major American city, serving as mayor of Seattle, Washington from 1926 to After years of civic activism, primarily with women's organizations, she was elected to the Seattle City Council in 1922 and became council president in She is to date Seattle's only female mayor.

13 Earl Averill MLB BASEBALL PLAYER SNOHOMISH, WA
Earl Averill was born on May 21, 1902 in Snohomish. He broke into Major League Baseball in 1929 (at the age of 27) with the Cleveland Indians. He played for Cleveland for over ten years, and remains the all-time Indians leader in total bases, runs batted in, runs, and triples!

Bill Gates was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle. He began to show an interest in computer programming at the age of 13. He pursued his passion through college. In 1975, Bill Gates and Paul Allen co-founded Microsoft, which became the largest PC software company in the world.

15 Fay Fuller MOUNTAINEER YELM, WA
Fay Fuller was an American journalist, mountaineer and schoolteacher. She was the first non-Native American woman to climb Mt. Rainier in 1890, just before her 20th birthday. She later was a journalist who continued to promote interest in mountaineering. Fay Peak on Mt. Rainier is named in her honor.
