3 Diagnosis: Dissociative Amnesia Disorder
Dissociative Amnesia is a disorder in which the mental function of memory breaks down. This is caused by several different things, notably extreme stress and traumatic events. This disorder can become more prevalent after stressful events, such as war. The person will block out certain information to the point where they cannot remember personal information about their past.

4 Symptoms of Dissociative Amnesia
Inability to remember personal information Forgetfulness Sudden flashbacks Constant confusion Depression and/or anxiety Aggression

5 Course: Wolverine’s Progression of Illness
When he was a young boy, he killed Thomas Logan while simultaneously discovering his mutation, which he later blocked out. When he was working in the lumber business, he could not recall his childhood or personal details. After the Weapon X mission, he became confused as to his past. Throughout his life, especially with X-Men, he would suffer from severe aggression and constantly would be violent, often leading to him killing others.

6 Prevalence Out of the entire American population, only .2% of citizens have Dissociative Amnesia.

7 Etiology The triggering event in Logan’s life was when he killed Thomas Logan and was witness to his own mutation. Afterwards, he suppressed this event to the point where he could not recall a large portion of his childhood.
