5 East Sussex population by districts and boroughs in 2014
25% people are aged 65+. The working age population (16-64) accounts for 58% of the whole population. Projected increase in population by 1.6% by 2019 (9,000 more people). Hastings and Rother highest deprivation area. GP reported prevalence of MH disorder is 10 per 1000 population with West Hastings being 16 per 1000. This is higher than the national average of 18% and the regional average of 19% lower than the national average of 63%

Adult Services 3 Community areas covered: Hastings and Rother area Eastbourne, Seaford and Hailsham area High Weald, Lewes and Havens area Each provides (for all ages over 18): Community (Assessment and Treatment Teams) Urgent Care Services (In patient wards, liaison staff, Crisis Home Treatment teams, Street Triage teams.) 8 Our Staff and Partners We have over 400 staff working across East Sussex with a mixture of Medical, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology and other specialist practitioners. We work in partnership with everyone concerned with the well being of people with mental health issues including, carers, families, patients, voluntary agencies. In addition we have very close working relationships with other providers including the local authority, local hospital and community providers, the ambulance and police services

11 Our Vision The vision for East Sussex is for: Local, 7 day, Specialist Mental Health provision that is based on evidence-based clinical care pathways that are integrated within the whole system and work in close partnership with staff, patients and their families. We will provide outstanding quality, safe and effective care and treatment that we can be proud of.
