1 My Victorian Visit By Reuben

2 Where we went Acton Scott Flaxmill
We went to Acton Scott working Farm and the Shrewsbury Flaxmill on Wednesday the 20th of September. We went there to learn about lots of Victorian people. The Victorians were hard working . This is a lesson for our History topic.

3 That is where the kibbler is.
Acton Scott The children had to help their mummies wash the clothes with a dolly. A dolly looks like a plunger with holes. It was hard work because they had to use their hands and not an electric washing machine like we have now. The children worked the kibbler. A kibbler sorted the corn for the chickens. It is hard to spin for children because it could hurt their arms if they got it wrong. The children fed the lambs and the sheep using their hands and throwing for the animals to eat up. There was lots of piggies in a wall cage.

4 Flaxmill The children worked at the mill and had different jobs to do. They had to break a dead flower and it looked like some wool from a sheep. It then got weaved into table cloths. The children and adults played games in Victorian times. They did not have computers in Victorian times so they played Games like ‘In and Out the Dusty Bluebells.’ The children got to leave their supper and play games with their friends. We did a song about children leaving supper.

5 What I Have Learned I have learned that children had to work really hard. They work much harder than me. I have learned there is a horse called Joe. I learned that there is a machine called a kibbler and another called a dolly.
