Topic B: neutron rate note
Suggested title: A study of out-of-time LHC backgrounds in CSC chambers Authors: Chad, Greg, Jay; what about Yunfeng, Misha, Loveless; others? Suggested abstract: Special runs were taken at various luminosities in 2010 to allow triggering on single layers in CSC chambers. With this data the time distributions of CSC signals relative to the collision bunch crossings was measured. The number of layers with hits within the chambers gives additional information as to the source of the signals, e.g. neutrons or muons.

What kind of note? Publication information at Choice: PHYSICS result or TECHNICAL result Technical note types: Detector Notes Internal Notes CMS Notes Conference reports CMS Notes general info: They are submitted through the iCMS interface (*) with document type “CMS Note” to the chair of the sub-editorial board of the appropriate sub-detector or project. Once approved, they get a Note Number and become publicly available through iCMS and CDS. If the note concerns more than one sub-project or if it is meant to be published on a journal, the Publication Committee chairperson should be informed, through the address so that more specific instructions can be provided.

Neutron CMS note Base on info in Twiki: Suggestions:
See Needs updating with Chad’s later results Suggestions: Prefer vector graphics (eps, pdf) to non-vector (jpg, png) Use DocDB to track the document? Use MUO (muon DPG performance paper) as template? Unclear exactly how to get setup properly ! Undefined control sequence. l.4 \cmsNoteHeader {MUO }
