CanSat Updates Team Lead: Christopher Charters
Meeting Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 5:20 to 6:20. PDR is due on February 1. Non-Competition meetings will start after February 1.

High Altitude Balloon Team
Reaches a high enough altitude to be able to capture images of the curvature of the earth. The launches will include both the construction of the balloon, parachute, and payload system. Meeting days to be determined. Will be working with the structures subsystem of Rocket Team and launch in Mid-February. Meeting on Fridays from 4PM-5PM in MAE-A Room 221!!!

Outreach Weiss school students visiting UF.
Helped in showing students around the SSG Lab as well as demonstrating things like CanSat, HAB, and building antennas! They also got to come down and see high altitude balloon launches. Will continue to work with them this semester.

Spring Semester Outreach Socials Speakers
Junior Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium in Reitz Grand Ballroom on February 1st from 12-1:30 PM. E-Week- Will participate E-Fair from 8 AM to 2 PM on February 22nd and 23rd. AIAA Region II Student Conference
The conference will be in Huntsville, Alabama April 4th and 5th (Monday and Tuesday). CanSat team will be presenting Individuals or other groups can also sign up Abstract and Registration Deadline: Friday, February 19, 2016 Paper Deadline: Friday, February 29, 2016 Most of the cost is free, only need to pay food out of pocket!

Speaker: Sheldon Clark
“Small Satellites in Industry – Opportunities in the New Frontier.” Sheldon Clark is a graduate of the University of Florida and currently a Senior Systems Engineer at Raytheon Intelligence and Information Services in Aurora, CO. In addition to his technical role, Sheldon serves as the Global Vice President of Operations for the Raytheon Young Employee Success Network. His professional experiences have included positions with Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, AZ and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. He received both his B.S. and M.S in Aerospace Engineering from UF in 2011 and Sheldon has been involved with the small satellite industry for nearly 7 years, first as a member, President, and Graduate Advisor of SSDC and later as an engineer and Principal Investigator at Raytheon. His continuing research interests include spacecraft systems engineering, advancing concepts in small satellite mission utility, and building young engineering talent through leadership opportunities.
