Mobilisation techniques (a) Posteroanterior central—The therapist performs an oscillating movement over the spinous processes using thumbs or heels of the hands. Elbows are extended and pressure is exerted through the shoulders and arms (b) Posteroanterior unilateral—Thumbs are placed over the apophyseal joints (c) Manipulation—rotation. With the patient positioned as shown, the therapist exerts a short sudden forward thrust on the ilium while maintaining strong counterpressure on the shoulder.
