1 No broken bones John 19:33-36

2 John 19:33-36 33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. 34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. 36 For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one of His bones shall be broken." 37 And again another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”

3 A misunderstanding Some object to talking about the broken body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me." His body was broken – the beating, the crown of thorns, the spear in his side But – no BONE was broken.

4 Even after He was already dead, He fulfilled prophecy.
Prophecy fulfilled John 19:36 For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one of His bones shall be broken." Even after He was already dead, He fulfilled prophecy. Psalm 34:20 He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken.

5 Passover kept 1 Corinthians 5:7b For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Numbers 9:12 They shall leave none of it until morning, nor break one of its bones. According to all the ordinances of the Passover they shall keep it. Exodus 12:46 In one house it shall be eaten; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, nor shall you break one of its bones.

6 Providence of god at work
God was in control 22 "Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know-- 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. Acts 2:22-24

9 Paradoxes of the unbroken bones

10 Principles of the unbroken bones
Israel ate the flesh Exodus 12:46-47 In one house it shall be eaten; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, nor shall you break one of its bones. 47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. John 6:54 & 56 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

11 Principles of the unbroken bones
In one house Exodus 12:46-47 In one house it shall be eaten; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, nor shall you break one of its bones. 47 All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. 1 Timothy 3:15  but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

12 Principles of the unbroken bones
Observed with great care Exodus 12:42 It is a night of solemn observance to the Lord for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. This is that night of the Lord, a solemn observance for all the children of Israel throughout their generations. 1 Corinthians 11:  But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
