1. Q1 Curriculum overview Spring Term 2017
Maths
In our number unit we will focus on data handling, including frequency tables, bar charts and pictograms. We will continue to work through coursework and assessments for our Entry Level functional skills in Maths.
English
We will continue to work through assessments for our Entry level functional skills, developing our ability to respond to texts. We will write to analyse, review and comment.
ASDAN
We will be learning about religions in our unit “Beliefs and Values”.
Science
We will continue to work on the Entry Level unit “Earth, Oils and Atmosphere”, then move on to “Electricity and Waves”.
PSD
We will focus on the world of work, identifying skills needed in the workplace and preparing a CV.
We will investigate a local business and find out what employment opportunities they offer.
Computing
We will consider the impact of ICT on society and think about digital imagery as we continue to work towards out functional skills award. PE
We will complete challenges that develop our fitness, teamwork and coaching skills by playing Rugby.
Design Technology
We will start to thread a sewing machine and use the machine to sew creatively.
Art
We will complete creative challenges that will contribute to our ASDAN qualification.
Food Technology
We are working towards unit awards that develop our abilities to prepare meals safely and hygienically. We will think about the importance of eating enough fruit and vegetables.
