11 Enter the District 7040 Passport Club

12 Look at Rotary differently
"This is a changing world; we must be prepared to change with it. The story of Rotary will have to be written again and again" Paul Harris, Founder of Rotary.

13 We make Rotary fit your life!
Club membership gives you a passport to visit and work with any other Rotary Club in the world and to take part in activities, programs and projects that interest and engage you. District 7040 Passport Club members are full Rotarians, with the same privileges and rights as Rotarians in traditional clubs. To do this, the District 7040 Rotary Passport Club only holds a few "in-person" meetings each year. Instead of weekly meetings, members are encouraged to engage in humanitarian service - however that works best for them.

14 Recognition for Participation in the D7040 Rotary Passport Club
D7040 Passport Club does not have regular weekly meetings, nor any service projects or fundraising projects.  At other clubs, attendance at club meetings, and sometimes at other club events and projects, is the measure of participation. In the D7040 Rotary Passport Club, we encourage members to engage with the other Rotary clubs in District 7040 by attending their meetings, service projects and fundraising projects.  In addition, we encourage participation in giving programs sponsored by The Rotary Foundation. Instead of an attendance measure, the Rotary Passport Club will give credit for the participation of its members by crediting members for each hour of participation, whether it be meetings, service projects, fundraising, individual Rotary learning, or giving to the Rotary Foundation.

15 How It Works Each year, a member is expected to earn activity credits by participating in Rotary activities for at least 40 hours. Every $100 tdonated o the Rotary Foundation earns an activity credit. Every hour of Rotary activities earns an activity credit. Every club meeting attended earns an activity credit. If Molly, a Rotary Passport Member, does the following during the Rotary Year:  Donates $400 to TRF’s Annual Fund = 4 activity credits Donates $100 to a local District 7040 Rotary club's Crab Feed = 1 activity credit Attends 10 meetings at D7040 Rotary clubs = 10 activity credits Spends 25 hours of her time on different District 7040 Rotary club service projects = 25 activity credits. Molly will be credited with 40 activity credits for the year, the minimum requirement for D7040 Passport Club members.

16 Use ClubRunner to track attendance

17 Requirements of membership
So you want to join the District 7040 Rotary Passport Club. You must: Have good character and high ethical standard. Fill out an application, unless you have been a Rotarian previously. Pay membership dues. Take part in at least 40 hours of Service every year. Give voluntarily to the Rotary Foundation every year.

18 Cost of dues for the district 7040 Rotary Passport Club?
Dues starting July 1, 2017 will probably be $200 CAD annually. To be finalized by the board. when it meets. This covers RI and district dues, insurance, and website hosting. Rotaractors will be able to join for $150 CAD.

19 Club structure The club will be a combination passport and e-club.
District 7040 Passport Club leadership has three functions: Communicate about opportunities for volunteerism. Educate the membership on all things Rotary. Fulfill requirements of Rotary International to maintain the Club's good standing.

20 How can existing clubs help?
Advertise activities on Facebook Add activities to the District Calendar Write to the Passport club secretary about your need for volunteers. Encourage anyone who is finding a regular club difficult to consider the Passport club before leaving Rotary completely.
