4 Philosophy and Goals Coaches are here to help athletes!
Our number one goal is to help the athlete grow into a successful adult. We want our athletes to develop a sense of community and a sense of service to the community. Athletes in Service Club

5 Uniforms and Equipment
School provides all equipment and practice gear/uniforms needed for athletics except for athletic shoes. Lack of athletic shoes should never be a reason a student does not participate in athletics at Staley.

6 ATTENDANCE Athletes must regularly be at practice in order to play! Girls practices are during the athletic period and after school. Practices will never end later than 5:15. Coaches will post a monthly practice calendar.

7 Team meals can be purchased for game days
Team meals can be purchased for game days. Athletes will stay after school on game days and for away games will ride the athletic bus to the event and back to the school.

8 Participation No Pass No Play!

9 Quitting a Sport Parents should encourage athletes to finish any sport that they start! If an athlete quits a sport but then decides she doesn’t want to quit, it is up to the head coach of that sport as to whether or not she is allowed back on the team.

10 Parent/Coach Communication
Please speak to the coaches before deciding to discipline your child by not letting them play in a game. Please understand that your daughter’s coach is a professional coach…..this is their chosen career. Remember we look at the team first and then at the individual. Be positive with your child in athletics – let them ENJOY being in athletics. Players play the sport, coaches coach the sport, officials officiate the sport, and parents cheer for the athletes. Chain of Command….follow it.

11 Substance Abuse We will follow all FISD policies related to substance abuse. Coaches will always call parents with rumors and facts.

12 Making the Team There are tryouts for volleyball, basketball, and soccer. Volleyball has 12 girls on each team 36 total per grade. Basketball has girls per team 35 total per grade. Soccer has 18 girls for the 7th grade team and 18 for the 8th grade team. Tryout dates are: Volleyball – Begin second day of school Basketball – In November—Dates to be determined Soccer – Late March/Early April---Dates to be determined CC and Track do not have tryouts

13 Social Media Online community is now a part of our community.
Student-athletes are held responsible for anything that they post on the internet. Know what your child is doing on the internet and monitor their social media.
