5. The UK AS a multi-faith society
The UK has become more of a multi-ethnic society which had lead to us becoming a multi-faith society.
The UK accepts that all religions should have equal rights within the UK (religious pluralism). All religious people have religious freedom where they are allowed to practise their faith.
It is illegal within the UK to discriminate against anyone based on their faith because of the Equality Act 2010.
The 2010 census showed 71% of the UK are Christian. 4% said they were Muslim and 21% said they were not religious.
