2 Notes Roman Architecture
The Romans “conquered” Greece around B.C. They used architecture to show that they were in charge. They built many buildings in the Roman style. Where ever Rome ruled, the cities benefited from new roads, bridges, sewers and aqueducts. The Romans developed the arch, vault, dome, and they discovered concrete.

10 The Coliseum Roman Architecture
The Coliseum is one of the most famous architectural achievements of ancient Rome. It features both arches and vaults. Beneath the arena floor was a substructure almost forty feet deep
