We love to read in 2P, and we will listen to your child read their own school reading book most days . We also have books to look at and share on our topics, and we would love it if you would send into school any reading material on our topics. We have Guided reading sessions in groups every week. Please read to your child at home especially when out and about for example labels in the supermarket. – Thankyou .

We really enjoy Maths in 2P
We really enjoy Maths in 2P . We are learning about money in topic maths this term so would you discuss paying when out and about in shops etc. We will be doing Maths outside at any opportunity. Also each child has Maths targets that we work to , so they can all work at their own individual levels ,for example with number work. On a Friday we play maths games which usually makes a topic easier to understand especially with us working practically! We also use our mathematical skills when they are needed in topic and science - All good clever fun !

This term we are learning about –Rocks and linking it into our topic about the angry earth. We will be using ICT to play some Science Games to make our understanding of the topic easier . We will also be working in groups outside for messier experiments with ‘potions’ so we can recreate volcanic explosions. Gosh that sounds hard work ! We can do it !!!

Please continue to read with your child at home and when you are out and about in the shops- signs and labels etc. Also would you please practise telling the time on the ordinary [analogue] clock! Mainly hours ,half hours and quarter past/to . Also as mentioned before please show your child different coins that you are using in shops. Homework will be sent home for literacy and spelling . Also there will be maths homework usually connected to number. Your child may also be asked to complete some Topic (History or Science) homework . Please feel free to help your child with homework and share your knowledge !!!
