2. OD Map Dashboard
The ODMap Dashboard is a web-based app designed to facilitate real-time surveillance of suspected overdoses. The dashboard provides level 2 users the ability to display locations of suspected ODs, entered by level 1 ODMAP users, and can be used to identify clusters of suspected ODs and spikes in OD events.
The Dashboard component of ODMap is designed to be used on
a laptop or desktop computer, and is not designed to be used on small mobile devices.

3. Registering for Access:
Access will only be granted to vetted members of organizations that have signed the ODMap participation agreement.
An agency’s ODMap Primary Representative will have to approve access for all users from that agency.

Fill out the registration form requesting SSL and ODMap Level 2 access

5. Accessing the ODMap Dashboard
Go to:
Enter the Username and Password provided to you as part of the SSL registration process (this is a different Username and Password than the one you would use to collect OD data using the ODMap mobile website).
Once you Sign In, you will see links to ODMap Production and ODMap Training under Web Bookmarks. The production system is the one that contains real suspected overdose data collected in the field. The ODMap Training link is used to view fictitious data collected during training.
To launch the ODMap Dashboard data viewer, click on the ODMap Production link.

6. Using the ODMap Dashboard
The Dashboard is separated into two major parts The information panels on the left and the map on the right.
Navigation
To pan the map, click and drag with your cursor on the map
To zoom, click and use the scroll wheel on your mouse, or use the zoom buttons in the top right corner. They are indicated with a ‘+’ to zoom in and a ‘-’ to zoom out.

7. Click on the tool to open the filter list
The filter tool contains several options for different ways of filtering the ODMap data displayed on the map.

8. These filters can affect the results of other parts of the Dashboard, such as queries, graphs and charts.
Remember to set the filter back to ‘All Features’ before using other tools.
Click on a checkbox to check on a particular filter to filter the data displayed on the map.
*Only select one filter at a time.

9. The map contents tool allows you to turn layers on and off by checking and unchecking the box.
You may want to turn off the main data layer when using query tools.

10. Basemaps: By Default ODMap uses a dark background basemap with a limited number of text labels to make the dots easier to see.
However, if you prefer you can select from several other available basemaps with various levels of detail.

11. Measure tool: If you need to know the distance between two points/locations.
To measure distance click the two points between which you want to measure the distance.
To return to the Main Tool bar click ‘Done’.

12. Bookmarks Tool: This tool contains a list of predefined regions.
Select one to zoom to that region.

Click on a point on the map. A circle will be displayed around the selected point, and a popup window returns containing information about the incident.

13. Using the Information Panels
The Information Panels are linked to the data displayed on the map and can be used to interpret the data. By using filters changes will be displayed on the Map and the Information Panel.
The first page of the Information Panel contains three sections. A map legend, an incident count and a pie chart.

14. The count section shows the total number of events submitted to the system. By default it shows the total count for the entire project. However, by selecting one of the filters in the filter tool the count will change to reflect the count of the filtered data.
The pie chart shows a breakdown all of the points displayed on the map by incident type. The total number of points represented by the pie chart is the same as the count displayed in the “Total Incidents Submitted” section above the pie chart.
The colors displayed on the pie chart do not correspond to the legend displayed in the “Legend section” at the top of the Information Panel .

15. The pie slices can be clicked on to see which incident types the pie slices represents, or you can turn on the pie chart legend by clicking on the chart legend button in the bottom right corner of the chart section.
On small screens, you may need to use the enlarge tool,
at the upper right corner of the chart section, to view the entire chart .

16. To change pages on the Information Panel,
click on one of the page indicators (boxes)
at the bottom of the Information Panel.
The blue box is the page you are currently on. To get to the other/next page, click on the gray box.

17. Information Panel – Second page
Information Panel – Second page. The second page is used for more advanced queries.
There are three tools/sections on the second page in the Information Panel: An advanced filter query “Advanced Filtering”,
A count “Number of Incidents”
A bar chart “Incident Type Count”.
To display information on the count and the bar chart, an advanced query must be selected and executed.
Advanced Filter Query – The Advanced Filtering section contains a list of more advanced queries you can use to filter the ODMap data.
Initially there is only one query, “Filter By Jurisdiction and Date”, other queries will follow as the project develops.

18. To select an advanced filter, click on the name of a query
To select an advanced filter, click on the name of a query. The Advanced Filtering section will now be populated with a dialog box for your selected query.
Fill out the requested information
(all fields required) and hit execute to submit your query. Spelling needs to
be correct, wild cards searches are not available at this time .
When running a query, make sure the Filter tool in the Main Toolbar is set to ‘All Features’.
So that the only dots on the map are those resulting from your query, uncheck ODMap layer in the Map Contents Tool, Main Toolbar. When the query has executed, the Count and Bar Chart sections of this page of the Information Panel are updated.

Click on ‘Show’ to display your resulting points on the map. Click ‘Zoom to’ and the map will zoom (either in or out) to an extent that contains all of your points.
