3 WELCOME TO ENGLISH WORSHIP 欢迎来到英文崇拜
Grow! In the new year we will start a Bible Reading plan. Are you ready to Join the Journey? Go! Invite a friend, family member, neighbor, classmate or coworker to English Worship next Sunday.

4 The Father's Will for You (Matthew 21:23-32)
(During the holiday weekends (Oct. 1 & 8) we will take a break from our study of the Reformation.) Last week we saw how many who are last will be made first by God's grace and mercy. The parable today is similar in many ways. The son who first refuses the father's call to go into the field later repents, while the one who agrees to go at first, never goes to the field at all. In this parable, Jesus is contrasting the sinners and tax collectors with the chief priests and elders of the people.

5 The Father's Will for You (Matthew 21:23-32)
Those who were "last" among the people heard the message of John the Baptist, who proclaimed that Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and they believed. And by faith their lives were transformed so that they were invited into God's kingdom. Meanwhile the Pharisees did not believe in Jesus.

6 The Father's Will for You (Matthew 21:23-32)
They claimed to be listening to God and following Him, but in reality they lied to God and refused God's gift of forgiveness and life in Jesus. In the same way we are invited into the kingdom of God, not by claiming or pretending to be good, but by truly believing in Jesus. And in this way the will of the Father is truly accomplished in us and our lives are transformed.

7 WELCOME

8 CALL to WORSHIP: (Psalm 诗篇25:1-7)
A: To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; C: in you I trust, O my God. A: Do not let me be put to shame, C: nor let my enemies triumph over me. A: No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, C: but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse.

9 CALL to WORSHIP: A: Show me your ways, O LORD, C: teach me your paths;
A: guide me in your truth and teach me, C: for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. A: Remember, O LORD, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. C: Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways;

10 CALL to WORSHIP: A: according to your love remember me,
C: for you are good, O LORD. A: Glory be to the Father and to the + Son and to the Holy Spirit; C: as it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen. A: To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul; C: in you I trust, O my God.

11 CONNECT TIME! (交流时段) P: For the next few minutes, find one or two people that you can talk with. This could be a friend or someone you are meeting for the first time. Introduce yourself and share an answer to one of the following questions with each other: What was the best part of your week? What was the hardest part of your week? Where did you see God at work this week?

12 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty; God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity!

13 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
2 Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Which wert, and art and evermore shalt be.

14 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
3 Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee, Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see; Only, Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee, Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

15 #001 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty; God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity! Amen

16 CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS
P: In the name of the Father and the Son + and of the Holy Spirit Matthew 28:19 C: Amen

17 CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS
P: Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the work of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You and worthily magnify Your holy name, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. C: Amen.

18 CONFESSION & FORGIVENESS
P: If we say we have not sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (silence for personal confession)

19 P Most merciful God, C we confess that we are in bondage to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We justly deserve Your present and eternal punishment. But for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us and lead us, so that we may delight in Your will and walk in Your ways to the glory of Your holy name. Amen

20 P: Almighty God, in His mercy, has given His Son to die for us and, for His sake, God forgives us all our sins. As a called and ordained servant of Christ and by His authority, I therefore declare to you the entire forgiveness of all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit. C: Amen!

21 PRAYER OF THE DAY(今日祷告)
P: Let us pray: C: Almighty Father, You have exalted Your Son, Jesus Christ to the place of all honor and authority. Enlighten our minds by Your Holy Spirit that, confessing Jesus as Lord, we may be led into all truth. Transform our lives by the power of the same Spirit which raised Jesus from the dead, and which know lives in us by faith.

22 PRAYER OF THE DAY(今日祷告)
C: This we pray through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

23 Musical Offering 诗班献诗 Jesus Shall Reign Where'er the Sun

24 Jesus shall reign where’er the sun
Does his successive journeys run; His Kingdom spread from shore to shore, Till moons shall wax and wane no more.

25 To Him shall endless prayer be made,
And endless praises crown His head; His name like sweet perfume shall rise With ev’ry morning sacrifice.

26 People and realms of ev’ry tongue
Dwell on His love with sweetest song, And infant voices shall proclaim Their early blessings on His name.

27 Let ev’ry creature rise and bring
His grateful honours to our King; Angels descend with songs again, And earth repeat the loud amen. Amen!

33 The Father's Will for You
SERMON 讲道 The Father's Will for You (Matthew 21:28-32) Pastor Shaun Daugherty

34 What a glory He sheds on our way!
#276 Trust and Obey 1 When we walk with the Lord In the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

35 But His smile quickly drives it away;
#276 Trust and Obey 2 Not a shadow can rise, Not a cloud in the skies, But His smile quickly drives it away; Not a doubt or a fear, Not a sigh nor a tear, Can abide while we trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

36 But our toil He doth richly repay;
#276 Trust and Obey 3 Not a burden we bear, Not a sorrow we share, But our toil He doth richly repay; Not a grief nor a loss, Not a frown or a cross, But is blest if we trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

37 Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
#276 Trust and Obey 4 Then in fellowship sweet We will sit at His feet, Or we’ll walk by His side in the way; What He says we will do, where He sends we will go, Never fear, only trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey. Amen.

38 APOSTLES' CREED I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. 我信上帝,全能的父,创造天地的主。 我信耶稣基督,上帝的独生子,我们的主,因着圣灵成孕,从童女马利亚所生,在本丢彼拉多手下遇难,被钉在十字架上,死了,葬了。下到地狱。

39 APOSTLES' CREED He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. 第三天从死人里复活。后升天,坐在无所不能的父上帝的右边。将来必从那里降临,审判活人、死人。

40 APOSTLES' CREED I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. 我信圣灵,一圣基督教会,圣徒一体相通,罪得赦免、肉身复活、并且永生。阿们。
