Daily Warm-Up (I do) ALCOS # 3 5th grade
A laptop computer originally cost $ Its cost decreased 25%. What is the sale price of the laptop not including tax?
2
Solution To find “percent of” any number, change the percent to decimal form, then multiply by the original number. 25% becomes .25 (move decimal point 2 places to the left and take off the percent sign) Multiply .25 x = $169.75 Then subtract discounted amount from the original price. $ = $ sale price.
3
Note: If you are dealing with money and your decimal answer is longer than the hundredths place you will have to round the decimal number to the hundredths place before continuing.
