COMPLETE THE DO NOW SILENTLY, INDEPENDENTLY, & IMMEDIATELY Do-Now Solve the following equations: 1). 4(X – 5) = 0 2). 4x + 2(X + 4) = 18 3). 33 = 3(3X + 2) + 3 – 3x Tw DURING REVIEW I WILL ASK FOR VOLUNTEERS TO SOLVE THESE! EVERYONE ELSE PUT A CHECK NEXT TO A RIGHT ANSWER OR CORRECT IT!

Objective & Essential Understanding
Copy all items in red in your notes Objective & Essential Understanding Objective: SWBAT write and solve two-step equations from word problems. Essential Understanding: Two step problems are actually easier than one-step problems, because the variable is always associated with multiplication or division! To do two-step word problems, carefully identify the variable and attach the multiplication or division operation to it. WHEN FINISHED SIT IN ACADEMIC POSTURE!
3
Solving Two-Step Word Problems:
Step 1): Continue using cubes: read carefully, circle operational vocabulary, underline, box, evaluate solve Step 2): In two step equations the variable is always attached to the operations of multiplication or division. Identify the variable and you can usually construct that term, and the rest of the problem is easy.
