3. Diplomacy Formal contacts between national governments.
Ambassadors are the highest ranking.
It is used as recognition for a new government, and ambassadors are exchanged.
We do not have ambassadors in Bhutan, Iran, or North Korea

4. Diplomatic Immunity
Under international law, diplomats and their families cannot be arrested or tried for a crime in the host country.
Some claim that murder is not tolerated…
The United States can expel an ambassador.

5. Trade Relations
By establishing trade relations, it is a way of showing cooperation with other countries.
Protectionism is not as practiced, as it can hurt global commerce. Tariffs and Quotas are still utilized.

6. Foreign Aid Economic Aid Military Aid
Given in the form of grants and loans to aid in infrastructure improvements.
Humanitarian aid utilized to survive disasters and individual crisis.
Military Aid
Often used by providing equipment, guns, etc.
“Boots on the Ground” is rare, and is more aligned with war powers.

It has the USA, Canada, and 24 European countries.
Nations consider an attack on any member country of the alliance as an attack on all members.
