1. Teacher Letters of Recommendation
Typical Process/Procedures
*All students must begin the process by speaking with the teacher directly!
Student is Using Common Application
(ignore select/add teacher in individual common app account – you cannot request a letter via your common app account)
Student is Using the
College Specific Application and
Coalition Application
Student Must First
1. List all colleges in common app account for which they are requesting a recommendation.
Sign the FERPA agreement.

In Naviance - Place the prospective college in the colleges I am applying to section in Naviance
Then request electronically via Naviance:

A College addressed, stamped envelope for each college to which a letter is to be sent
Off line printed Teacher Evaluation form (found in CA account, under the my colleges tab, under the rec and FERPA section) Sample Offline CA form.pdf
Student must provide teacher with:
A College addressed, stamped envelope for each college to which a letter is to be sent
Printed copy of college specific teacher evaluation form – if applicable
Student must:
- Follow College Specific instructions or Coalition instructions
- Then provide teachers with a written list all of colleges for confirmation
