2 Dressing for Success Your journey as a Youth of the Year will afford you many opportunities to meet and engage with new and influential people. This guide will assist YOY to dress for success in several situations.

3 LADIES

4 Campus Casual Khaki-style pants or capris, jeans, shorts or skirts. Skirts and shorts should be knee length while standing and cover your thighs when seated. All bottoms should be clean, with no tears and worn on your waist – no yoga or athletic style pants. Tops may be a Boys & Girls Club T-shirt or polo style collared shirt or blouse. Comfortable flat shoes such as sneakers, sandals or casual shoes – no heels, flip flops or shower shoes.

6 Business Casual Khaki or dress pants, moderate-length dresses or skirts. Dresses and skirts should be knee length while standing. They should cover your thighs when seated. Pants should fit appropriately, not too tight, no yoga style or athletic fit bottoms. Shirts with collars or blouses that do not show your midriff, bare shoulders or cleavage – no spaghetti straps or tank tops. Flats shoes appropriate for walking – no heels or flip flops.

8 Business/Professional
Pant suits with blouses, skirts with blouses and jackets or business style dresses with suit jackets. Comfortable heels or flats. No sundresses, spaghetti straps or party dresses – all skirts. Dresses and skirts should be knee length while standing and cover your thighs when seated. Pants should fit appropriately, not too tight – no yoga style or athletic fit bottoms.

10 GENTLEMEN

11 Campus Casual Khaki-style pants, shorts or jeans. All bottoms should be clean, with no tears and worn on waists. No athletic style pants or gym shorts. Tops may be a Boys & Girls Club T-shit, polo style or collared shirts. Shirts should be tucked in and a belt is suggested. Comfortable casual shoes such as sneakers or sandals – no flip flops or shower shoes.

13 Business Casual Khaki pants or dress slacks, polo style or button-down shirts tucked in and belted. No athletic style khaki pants. Jackets and ties are optional. Casual or dress shoes with socks. No sandals, shower shoes, sneakers or hiking boots.

Dark colored business suits with long sleeve dress shirts, ties or bowties, tucked in and belted. Socks and dress shoes. No khaki pants, denim or polo shirts.
