DiTEM / IO2: e-Learning Environment
Intellectual Output 2 comprises the design and delivery of the e- Learning which will facilitate the digital transformation of micro SMEs. The e-Learning environment will be facilitated by the Lykio Cloud-based (AWS Cloud) Learning Motivation Environment ( developed by CCS. A consolidated presentation of the Lykio environment is available here.
3
Why is Lykio suitable for DiTEM?
Lykio was originally conceived for corporate training and is used to increase learning and business results by: Enabling subject matter experts, coaches and training managers to disseminate chunks of structured knowledge across large and dispersed professional groups in a simple and efficient manner. Empowering a continuous collaborative learning culture, enabling managers to coach their teams on-the-job and users to create and share with their groups and peers ad-hoc created informal knowledge (e.g. on-the-job experiences, photos, videos, performance metrics, best practices etc.)
4
So What? How can we make Lykio serve DiTEM objectives?
Let’s see an operational deployment of Lykio first in order to start understanding what Lykio is and what Lykio isn’t. Viceroy Piraeus Bank Note: As per evaluation: “the content for inclusion on the platform is all being developed as part of other IOs” In effect this means that CCS instructional design work on the content will be limited to providing examples to partners on how to prepare their learning objects (address assessment instruments, exercises, lessons planning and media selection) which CCS will then package and upload to Lykio.

1 2 3 4 A1 Translate IO1 to DiTEM LME
A dedicated DiTEM instance of Lykio will be made available via Amazon Web Services Cloud (AWS) to serve the project. CCS will configure Lykio to support the DiTEM motivational schema: 1 2 3 4 Rewards Learners will be motivated by rewards. Define rewards to be collected and how they are cashed (e.g. Easter Eggs) Badges Badges are awarded when certain achievements are attained Roles Identify innovative learner roles to intrinsically motivate learners Challenges Introduce system generated challenges (e.g. attend a specific unit, vote on something, etc.)
6
5 6 7 8 9 Motivational Schema Missions (Team) Leaderboards Easter Eggs
Identify suggestions created within teams or proposed by a team member Leaderboards Leaderboards will rank participants according to their XP. All leaderboards can be reset at predefined intervals (e.g. beginning of each month) Easter Eggs Design surprise events happening when the player performs certain actions (e.g. click on a specific picture) Notifications Isolate events to shout out (e.g. change in a learner’s status) 9 Achievements Identify possible achievements, assign icon, title and completion status

3 Releases: A2 to A4 A2 – Platform Internal Test (M)
A3 – Pilot Test (M19) A4 – Final Release (M29) Final Release Pilot Test Internal Test
8
A2 – Platform Internal Test
Deploy the first instance of the DiTEM Learning Motivation Environment for the project, populate with the English Learning Objects prepared by the partners, configure the users, define the roles and the motivational mechanics and introduce the partners to the environment in order to do the initial, internal tests. First contact with the environment will be remotely and based on feedback an Alpha release will be gradually developed. Then, during the joint staff training the Alpha release can be tested collaboratively, on site.
9
A3 – Platform Pilot Test Results/conclusions from the internal test will provide the roadmap for preparing a pilot release of the Learning Objects and the platform. This pilot release will involve end-users (managers of micro enterprises-10 per country) and VET trainers (trained as DiTEM coaches-2 per partner). 9 months are dedicated to this activity, as several short training events will be organised in each country to collect feedbacks and test the coaching methodology: each partner will assure online presence for trainers according to the defined coaching programme. The first release of the platform for the public is scheduled at M19.
10
A4 – Final Release A final release of the DiTEM environment is envisaged for M29 and will be based on the overall conclusions, mainly from the pilot tests. This is the release to support DiTEM after the end of the project and will be the main point of reference for the sustainability strategy which will guide actions mainly past the end of the project life.
