Quizlet Live Alternative to Kahoot/Quizizz
Can double as resource for studying Requires students to work with other classmates and work as a team Can create Quizlet cards from direct translation, definitions in target language, picture identification, etc. Can play multiple times and still have variation in answers

Kahoot Jumble Another form to play Kahoot
Can play with object pronouns, translations, order of sentences, si clauses, gustar, order of events, reflexive pronouns, conjunctions, etc. Students put in order sentence Have to play individually and not on team mode Give longer time to complete

Bellwork: Monday-”Listo Lunes”
Start the week off with culture! Students read a short paragraph about cultural topic Answer questions in English/Spanish Watch video, show pictures, discuss Can later assess on a quiz, test, extra credit, etc. Ideas from: misclaseslocas.blogspot.com

Bellwork: Tuesday- “Música Martes”
We listen to a popular/grammar/vocabulary- related song every Tuesday Students watch video Fill in lyrics in a clozed format or either-or Fill out bellwork together and determine the instruments, the location and the meaning of the song Also discuss where the singers are from, the lyrics that were interesting and finally, how many stars the song deserves Ideas from: misclaseslocas.blogspot.com

Phrase of the Week Weekly slang phrase of the week-also write in our bellwork Students must use phrase appropriately to receive ticket Students write name on the ticket and place in bucket Drawings are weekly Winners names are written on the board Prizes are awarded for name drawing

Partner Speed Drills Quick way to practice after introducing grammar/vocabulary concept Students have 20 problems; can be conjugations, translations, definitions, etc. Student #1 has prompt and student #2 has answer-can correct student if incorrect Student #1 answers 10 problems and then student #2 answers 10 problems

Post-Its- Who am I? Fun and low-prep activity
Write vocabulary words on post-it notes; ex-professions, foods, animals, body parts, places, etc. Students must speak in target language Students ask each other yes or no questions Am I a fruit? Do I live in the forest? Do I work with my hands?

Snake How to play: Can be used for vocabulary/verbs, etc.
Cards are already pre-cut Students match the definition to the vocabulary word, conjugation to the infinitive, etc. making the shape of a snake

Battleship Principle of Battleship applies: Guess all of your partner answers before you can guess all of theirs. Here are all the versions that I play or have played: Who has to do what chore? (chore vocab & tener que) This, that or those way over there with Sporting items (sports equipment & demonstrative adjectives) Items in a suitcase (travel items & direct objects) Who is the patient in the waiting room? (doler & body parts) Who went where? (preposition con) What gift for which person? (preposition para)

Accuracy Games Número Magico : Quick vocabulary matching game where students match English to Spanish translations. The número magico is the same number in every column and row. Contra El Reloj: Students have a set number of problems to do, once complete they raise their hand to mark the time. We go over the correct answers and for every answer that is wrong time is added to your final time total. Reverse Hangman: Students write/ conjugate for accuracy, every time their answer is correct they get to add an item to their shape.
