What is the STaR Chart? School Technology and Readiness It is an online resource for TEACHERS. It assesses the needs and sets goals for the use of technology in the classroom. Data can support funding or other resources including professional development. Conceptualizes the campus or district vision of technology.

3 The STaR Chart describes what technology looks like in:
Teaching and Learning Educator Preparation and Development Administration and Support Services, and Infrastructure for Technology Early Tech (1), Developing Tech (2), Advanced Tech (3), and Target Tech (4) are terms used to describe the technological progress.

Key Area 1 – Remained the same or showed an increase Teachers are incorporating more technology into their lessons and Students are utilizing the various technologies that are available to them Key Area 2 – Some areas had no change, while others had an increase and a decrease There was an increase in the capabilities of educators (YES, we’re getting it!) It showed a decrease in Models of Professional Development (Budget cuts…I assume)

Key Area 3 – Some areas had no change, while others had an increase and a decrease -There seems to be an increase on online learning and -A decrease in communication and collaboration Key Area 4 – There were some decreases - With more technology being used, it is understandable that tech support, speed of internet and connectivity problems will always seem to be an issue
