3. Objectives of the Workshop
Share the process GEOSEC started with the GCI requirements (Feb 2016) and improve the GEOSS Portal towards the requirements to improve discoverability and accessibility of data.
Discuss about the importance of quality of metadata and accessibility of data – learn and share about Data Management Principles and Data Sharing Principles.
Overview of Certification schema already existing and other mechanisms to ensure data quality and discuss what would be the best scenario for data providers and for GEO.
Create a community across data providers.
Learn, share and communicate the process for registration and brokering for a new Data provider in the GCI.
Listen to the needs and value the role of the data providers within the GCI – visibility, statistics etc.
Learn what is the flow of information from Users: APIs Views and Community Portals.
