What is Persuasive Speaking?
Induce your audience to believe what you believe, so that you can… Influence your audience to cause some sort of action to take place. Your topic should always be something controversial- there is a pro and a con side to the argument.

Appealing to Your Audience
Logical Appeal (Logos) Emotional Appeal (Pathos) Be organized and offer proof Use your words to arouse feelings in your audience- anger, disgust, compassion Personal Appeal (Ethos) Be honest and competent

Parts you add to a Persuasive Outline
Background Information- Needs to be added to your introduction where you define terms and give information related to your topic Thesis sentence- you need to pick a side and state why in a positive way. Call to Action- What should your audience do, now that they have heard your speech? What comes next?
