What are we scaling? Research and Data, do we have it?
What true academic advising looks like in the United States, and recognize that this is not happening intentionally at SFCC for all students. Connected the importance of academic advising to institutiona l retention and completion rates, which makes this important to SFCC's mission of Continuous Quality Improvement. Looked at "pockets of success" with intrusive advising on campus What does the committee propose? Project started with Round 1 piloting of the evidence Based I Best model in the grant – Intrusive Advising Created a TEAM – Staff Advisors, Registrar, Faculty, Finance Office,

Proposed Changes Hire full-time “Navigators” to serve as intrusive advisors for all students Assigned by program types (i.e., AA, AAS) first, then by major. Strategic location Extended Campuses included in training Become a member of “Student Success Team”
