EU, EEA and Switzerland No student visa required but must meet university language requirements Outside EU, EEA and Switzerland Need a Tier 4 student visa – the exams accepted depend on the level of study Below degree level Degree level or above Students must take a Secure English Language Test (SELT). We recommend IELTS for UKVI. Universities on UKVI’s list of Tier 4 Sponsors can select the English exams they use, including Cambridge English: Advanced and Proficiency.
