46. Vocabulary
Compare means to look at two (or more) numbers to see which is larger/smaller and find the difference between the numbers. When we say something is more, we mean that it has the greater number. When we say it has fewer items, it is the smaller number and has less items. Which is more, 68 or 73? Which is less, 54 or 59?

Addition and subtraction are related. You can use addition facts to help you subtract, and you can use subtraction facts to help you add. That’s because these facts form a fact family! They are related because they have the same numbers.
A fact family is a set of three numbers that are all related because two parts add up to equal the whole, and you can break the whole into those two parts.
