Challenge – contaminated dredge material – not suitable for disposal at sea – built up area and disposal to land cost prohibitive
Solution = treatment of material to retain on site as construction fill

Challenge – Build a 7.7m high rock breakwater on over 10m of soft mud
Solution = spraying sand, vertical drains and geotextile layers
required 11,000 drains to be installed
9 month pre-load
Crest height 1.2m above finished level to account for settlement
