Covers all ccTLDs in the Pacific Covers all ccTLDs in Asia Covers all ccTLDs in the Middle East Cultural Diversity is HUGE Language Diversity is HUGE Geography is HUGE Focus on the Wide Diversity of APTLD – very similar to other AP* organisations – except that we actively reach out into the Pacific (who else does) and into the Middle East (who else does). Are there opportunities for synergy, cooperation.

9 Dot.IDN FastTrack Introduction of dot.IDN on a very limited basis
Extend status quo for ccTLD managers to one additional TLD in local script Local & Global Consultation Expected initial uptake ~ a Dozen ccTLDs >25% of World’s Population

10 APTLD Position on dot.IDN
Allow each existing ccTLD to manage one additional country or territory specific ccTLD in a recognised non-ASCII script of their country or territory. The name will be determined by the ccTLD’s local Internet community. APTLD recognises that this will not meet the demand for a few ccTLDs with multiple non-ASCII scripts and we will actively pursue the policy development solution to meet their needs too. Manage a six-month comment period for the international community to lodge substantive objections to the names chosen as not being relevant for the ccTLD. This will ensure that spurious names are not chosen.
