AIM DETERMINE THE TERMS AND MODALITIES OF THE COOPERATION BETWEEN THE 5+5 DEFENCE INITIATIVE NAVIES , TO INCREASE INTEROPERABILITY IN MARITIME SECURITY. MARITIME SECURITY .- A CIVIL MILITARY ACTIVITY WHICH AIMS AT PREVENTING RISKS AND COUNTERING THE THREATS IN THE MARITIME ENVIRONMENT. IS BASED ON: KNOWLEDGE & COORDINATION AND ON: MARITIME SECURITY OPERATIONS MARITIME SITUATIONAL AWARENESS FOR NAVIES.- KNOW, CONTROL & PROTECT TRADE LINES AND CIVILIAN ACTIVITIES, ENHANCING PATNERSHIP AND COOPERATION.

RISKS AND THREATS TRANSNATIONAL TERRORISM, PIRACY, ILLEGAL TRAFFICKING (HUMAN BEINGS, NARCOTICS, WEAPONS AND BLACK MARKET GOODS), MARITIME POLLUTION AND ECOLOGIC DISASTERS, ILLEGAL, UNDECLARED AND UNREGULATED FISHING, - DISRUPTION OF SEA LINES OF COMMUNICATION. (THIS POINT HAS NOT BEEN FULLY AGREED SO FAR).

TASKS - ON EACH MEMBER - DETECT, IDENTIFY AND CLASSIFY VESSELS OPERATING IN THE AREA OF MUTUAL INTEREST (AMI) PLACED UNDER HIS RESPONSIBILITY. EXCHANGE NEAR REAL TIME INFORMATION, WHEN POSSIBLE, ON THE AMI. CONTACT AND INFORM, IN TIME, THE OPERATIONAL POINTS OF CONTACT (POC OPS) OF “5+5 DEFENCE” MEMBER NATIONS ON ANY PARTICULAR EVENT OF COMMON INTEREST FOR MARITIME SECURITY. ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN LINKS BETWEEN NATIONAL MOCS. MAXIMUM EXPLOITATION OF V-RMTC TOOL IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE ABOVE LISTED TASKS.

COORDINATION MAKE THE NECESSARY EFFORTS TO ENABLE A FULL UPDATE AND AN EFFICIENT SHARE OF INFORMATION, BY: UPDATED CONTACT INFORMATION WITH THE REFRESH RATE ADEQUATE TO THE OPERATIONAL SITUATION; EXPLOIT DEDICATED CHAT TOOL AND ENCRYPTED . COORDINATING PROCEDURES: EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION OF MARITIME INTEREST EXCHANGE OF THE COMMON MARITIME PICTURE INFORMATION ON RISKS, THREATS OR SPECIFIC EVENTS.
