Solving Exponential Equations

2. Prime Factorization Creating a Factor Tree
Break the number down to only prime numbers
Group multiples of the numbers together with exponent equal to quantity of the number.

3. Solving Exponential Equations
An exponential equation is an equation with a variable in the exponent.
To solve:
1. The bases of the exponents must be equal to each other.
May need to prime factorize the bases to get them equal
2. Any new exponents created by prime factorization must be multiplied by existing exponents
3. Once the bases are equal, we can cancel them out and set the exponents equal to each other.
4. Solve the remaining equation
