Focus for Today In this lesson, you will cite evidence to support your claim/position on a factor that is changing India. Citing evidence is important because it allows a writer to convince a reader of the validity of their argument.

Check for Understanding- Answer true or false
In order to cite evidence, we must use a quote. A claim/position is a fact. You should always include a quote to support your claim.

Independent work You will read the article, Cars are Changing India.
You will take a position on the following question: Should all families in India have cars? Fill in the graphic organizer after you read. You need to have two paragraph. One piece of evidence in each.
