2. Emotional abuse occurs when a child constantly faces threatening ill treatment from an adult. This can be verbal abuse, mocking and insulting the child. This kind of abuse is very hard to detect especially in young children.
Emotional neglect means the child does not receive love and affection from the adult. They also may often be left alone without company and support from someone who loves them.

3. Signs of emotional abuse
The child can become nasty
They can lack confidence
They can isolate themselves
They can become aggressive
Lack of social skills
Become wary and anxious

4. Behaviours of emotional abuse
Very well mannered
Child may attention seek
They have fear of failure
Complain a lot
Slow to work, walk and talk
Have mood swings
May get on badly with other children
Find it hard to develop relationships
