Workshop Overview Workshop two had three aims:
Agree a set of principles - to underpin the outcomes of the Reference Group Introduction to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) - The model for quality improvement the Vanguard programme has committed to Focus on the ‘Better Health’ segment of the population - Where we are now/what we know - What are the minimum quality requirements/system aims and measures we want for this population

What we did- The session was interactive, breaking into smaller groups. Each group was given a patient scenario for which to define minimum quality requirements/system aims and measures. During feedback each group independently arrived at very similar outcomes - centred on the wider determinants of: family support, peer support, schools, safe spaces, local groups, how people live their lives, how to self manage. Very few of the outcomes involved General Practice for this patient group.

How to get involved? Read our newsletter – we’ll be providing regular updates through NewsinBrief Request a practice visit. Sam and the Primary Care Team are visiting practices who want to raise any issues or flag up a new ideas. The Primary Care Team will continue to attend regular meetings to provide updates and hear your views - E.g. Locality meetings, Health Watch, Health and Well Being Forum, LMC, Practice Manager Forums Locality based work shops will be held in April/May Check the Tower Hamlets GP website for updates on primary care transformation …We’ve also set up a patient reference group to steer our wider public and patient engagement
