Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage encompasses all children under 5. We follow the same documents as preschools and nurseries, which lead into the National Curriculum. Lunchtime and Snack Snacks are provided by the fruit and vegetable scheme each day. Milk is provided on a daily basis. Water is available in class at all times. Toys / show and tell School dinner and packed lunch Jen – School dinner or packed lunch. Healthy lunch. No NUTS!!!! Lunches in the hall we will really take care of them. Then to play outdoor with option of our peaceful garden area. All children entitled to free school meal.

Reading Letters and sounds Picture books and sharing books
Reading books Katie – Letters and sounds more info in Sept will offer parents sessions. We will send home a letters and word cards. When your child is ready and has a clear grasp of sounds and using them to read and build words we shall move them to early reading books when we feel they are ready. If children are already secure readers we will ensure they continue to make reading progress.

Mornings The gates open at 8.45.
Initially bring your into the class via the infant gate. Children who have already started school will be lining up outside. When your children feel more confident they can line up with the rest of the class. School starts at 8.55 please try to have left by then as the class gets busy! Katie– Bring into class there will be a routine to follow, children will be taught to self register, where to put lunch boxes, reading bags and coats and then choose an activity.

Pick up School Finishes at 3pm. We will be prompt to avoid the crowds.
We will walk and meet you at the infant gate (nearest to the car park). Children do not go until we have seen you. Please contact us if you may be late. Please send a written note addressed to your class teacher if they are being picked up by someone else. Katie – The children are not allowed to leave us until we have seen you! We like to hand them over. If someone else is picking up your child please let us know via a note, otherwise we do not let them go and will phone you.

First Few Weeks Home Visits, 6th, 7th and 8th September
11th,12th and 13th pick up at 12pm 14th and 15th stay for lunch pick up at 1.30pm From 18th full time pick up at 3 o’clock Morning tears Tiredness When to come and see the class teacher Catherine – We will invite you in for a 5 min meeting as a catch up and how we are settling in, this will take place during the afternoon.
