2 What is a dichotomous key?
A dichotomous key is a tool that allows the user to determine the identity of items in the natural world, such as: Trees, wildflowers mammals, reptiles, rocks and fish.

3 Keys consist of a series of choices that lead the user to the correct name of a given item.
“Dichotomous” means “divided into 2 parts” Dichotomous keys always give 2 choices in each step.

4 ALWAYS!!!!!! Begin with the 1st pair of descriptions.
At the end of each description is either a classification or directions to go to another step. DO NOT SKIP STEPS!!!!!!!
