Stage 1 rums are made directly from unrefined cane juice, BEFORE it is used for sugar manufacturing.
Stage 2 rums are made from molasses,(a by- product of sugar refining) from refined sugar or a combination of the two.
Richland Rum is a Stage 1 Rum, made directly from unrefined cane juice.
The fresh juice is condensed first by gently applying heat, letting water evaporate and allowing sugar to caramelize.
This approach enriches the flavor and aroma profiles.
