1 2016 Mbarara Golf Safari

2 We are a Ugandan company that employs the universal appeal of sports to encourage Ugandans and tourists to visit the beautiful Ugandan countryside and wilderness for business and pleasure. We ordinarily involve the participation of children from all walks of life in our activities to travel, learn and enjoy various sports and tourism activities.

3 Each year we undertake a series of sports Tourism events in or near tourism locations around Uganda. The idea is to use sports to drive the numbers especially domestic tourists to the tourism sites. To celebrate the World Tourism Day due on 27th September 2016 we shall host Mbarara Golf Safari in Mbarara from 23rd to 25th Sept 2016.

4 Objectives of Mbarara Golf Safari 2016
To increase public awareness about Sports Tourism as an alternative to Nature Based Tourism and boost Domestic Tourism To bring together a wide spectrum of participants, especially local communities in line with the theme for 2016 World Tourism Day “Tourism for All” Promote Mbarara as a major Tourism spot in the region with diverse attractions in culture, wildlife and as a business hub Promote conservation for Sustainable and Responsible Tourism by involving schools in tree planting.

“Tourism for All” Run (to raise funds to support Special Needs School in Mbarara) Cultural and Community Hike (Eclipse Hill) Golf and other sports (Mbarara Sports Club) Tree Planting (Mbarara Municipality) Camping, Story Telling and Bull Roasting (in the Wild) “Back in Time” Social Evening

6 Schedule Friday 23rd: Arrival in Mbarara, Welcome cocktail at Mbarara Sports Club. “Tourism for All Run” (Hashers and Community) Campers proceed to Camping Site

7 Schedule Saturday 24th Sept Golf & other sports at Mbarara Golf Club
Cultural and Community Walk Tree Planting by school children Game Drive in Lake Mburo (Non players) Prize giving, “Back in Time” social evening

8 Schedule Early Morning Game Drive (Lake Mburo National Park)
Sunday 25th Sept Early Morning Game Drive (Lake Mburo National Park) Departure at Leisure

9 Our request MTWA to participate and support Sports Tourism International (STI) in this event as an integral part of celebrating World Tourism Day in the following ways: MTWA to support STI in mobilising the general public to participate in the event as a curtain raiser to World Tourism Day MTWA to request UWA to waive park entry fee to L.Mburo for participants MTWA to officiate at the prize giving ceremony on Sat 24th Sept 2016. MTWA to facilitate STI event with drinking water, Banners, Posters, T-shirts, Scarves, and other publicity materials relating to World Tourism Day. MTWA to facilitate STI with transport for Special Needs Children to visit L. Mburo National Park.

10 Conclusion We invite MTWA to participate and support Sports Tourism International in this Golf Safari, which is a great opportunity to mobilise the general public to celebrate world Tourism Day 2016. The expected big numbers of participants will generate business in a relaxed environment to Mbarara Community and therefore achieving the objectives of Domestic Tourism. Our media partners will provide a timely campaign especially on social media that delivers great publicity results at low cost, delivers high visibility and high return on investment.
