The Internet of Things (IoT) Transformation Workshop is a highly interactive one-day, visual, and slide-free six-phase workshop that expedites the strategic adoption of IoT and realization of key business outcomes. It does so by leveraging field-proven experience, new IT and OT technologies to achieve a highly aligned business and IT/OT strategy, including short- and long-term “end state” results.
The workshop allows enable our customers to vet the business opportunities and risks that IoT represents to them and distill that down into a highly relevant high level business strategy and then builds a similar high level technology strategic roadmap that is 100% aligned to the business strategy.  At the top right corner you will see the room lay out. The customers will navigate between the content panels (in green on the slide) to the white panels where they will do the work.
We lead the conversation through multiple lenses - The lenses through which we address the IoT challenges.
We start with the business panel where we showcase a “buffet” of ‘simple ideas’ of how IoT can be used to transform ‘a business’, based on real life examples. We explore ways to transform the customers business by unlocking the power of data. We go through 4 areas: Cost optimization or reduction; Improve existing revenue streams; Enhance customer engagement & “people experience”; Generate new sources of revenue / Open new market opportunities.
How data can drive actions which is the heart of IoT. One if the cornerstones of IoT is the data and how it is used. Once data from the ‘things’ are captured and integrated with other sources, it needs to be analyzed, and the insights used to motion appropriate actions. We look across 3 dimensions – data, people, and insights. As it is about quickly and iteratively turning ideas, to insights, to better outcomes.
We address the security challenges of everything and everyone. The impact of security vulnerabilities in an IoT world adds a new dimension that touches all. Discussing how it’s an ongoing process and in a holistic manner. Security is no longer going to be about a point product or a point protocol.
We discuss the importance to take a strategic systems approach to building a sustainable, scalable, and adaptive architecture. We discuss that IoT is about a lot more than connecting a few systems and extracting expected value from known data sets. We cover the importance of defining your platform strategy and the critical role of an adaptive edge infrastructure.
There is a need to adopt a more pragmatic IoT environment. Merging your existing IoT systems/applications that use well understood data sets is not difficult, and is TACTICAL in nature. Planning for the explosion of things/systems/data, discovering new insights from Super-Massive Data, and enabling yet-to-be-thought-of applications, is STRATEGIC.
