King Richard I The Lions heart
He was a king of England. He was born on September 6, 1157 at Beaumont Place, Oxford. He was the third son of Henry II. He was crowned on 2 or 3 September, 1189 at Westminster Abbey. During his life he acquired a reputation as a leader and warrior becoming known as Richard ‘The Lion Heart’ due to his heroic actions. He was killed by accidental arrow in France. A contemporary said about it: «An ant killed the lion».

Maria I «the Bloody» There were a lot of fires in February A lot of people spoke about the death of many persons who were killed because of their faith. About 300 men were burnt. Even those who decided to refuse their faith and became catholic where also burnt. Because of this cruelty the queen got the nickname «The Bloody Mary».

Edward I «Edward Longshanks» 1239-1307
Edward I also known as Edward Longshanks was King of England from 1272 to He got his nickname because he was very tall. On the second of May in 1774 his grave was disclosed. His body was preserved very well. The length was 6 feet 2 inches. He was much taller than his contemporaries.

John «Lackland» John also known as John Lackland was a King of England from 6 April 1199 until his death. During his governing the major part of British lands in France was lost. After that he received his nickname.

Elizabeth I «The Virgin Queen» 1533-1603
Elizabeth was the fifth and last monarch of the Tudor dynasty. She had never got married. Thought it would not be correct to think about her as a woman who hated men. It was evident that she liked men company. Because of the fact that the queen was never marred she got nickname «The Virgin Queen»
