The Bill of Rights The anti-federalist criticized the Constitution for the absence of a Bill of Rights Bill of Rights: the first ten amendments added to the Constitution.

1st Amendment Freedom of speech, religion, press, right to assemble and right to petition

2nd Amendment Right to bear arms

3rd Amendment Prohibits government from quartering troops without consent

4th Amendment Prevents against unreasonable search and seizure
7
5th Amendment Individuals can not be forced to incriminate themselves

6th Amendment The right to a fair trial
9
7th Amendment The right to a trial by jury
10
8th Amendment No cruel or unusual punishment
11
9th Amendment Constitutional rights do not deny peoples other rights

10th Amendment Rights not granted to the federal government belong to the state’s government

Bill of Rights Create a CD playlist for the Bill of Rights.
Each track needs a ‘song title’ that will represent each of the first 10 amendments. Be creative with your song titles BUT make sure that they are school appropriate and pertain to the amendment. Needs to include what amendment correlates with each amendment.

15th Amendment The 15th amendment “the rights of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied by the United States or by any State on account of race, color or previous condition of servitude. Ex: Check ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ (15th Amendment)
