What is an honorary degree? It is a university qualification which does not require the passing of exams; it is given to a distinguished visitor who has contributed something special to a subject or society. What year did Martin Luther King die? 1968. Video of his most famous speech here: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” (12 minutes into the video) Also against violence (7.5 minutes into the video).

Competition rules: The text must include words in a language or languages other than English. The entry might be a short, illustrated, description of a dream, using words, phrases or sentences. Judges will look principally at the language in the text, rather than the quality of any images. No entry can be larger than a sheet of A4 paper. Pupils should write their name, age, class, teacher and school on the back of their entry.
