2. “This year the city of Newcastle upon Tyne has launched a year-long commemoration to mark the 50th anniversary of Dr King receiving an honorary degree from Newcastle University, and leading up to Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January 2018, the 50th anniversary of his death.”

What is an honorary degree?
It is a university qualification which does not require the passing of exams; it is given to a distinguished visitor who has contributed something special to a subject or society.
What year did Martin Luther King die?
1968.

4. Competition rules:
The text must include words in a language or languages other than English.
The entry might be a short, illustrated, description of a dream, using words, phrases or sentences.
Judges will look principally at the language in the text, rather than the quality of any images.
No entry can be larger than a sheet of A4 paper.
Pupils should write their name, age, class, teacher and school on the back of their entry.
