OBJECTIVE SWBT will identify key elements of urbanization and immigration at the turn of the 20th century through short answers study guide. DO NOW The Bessemer process made making steel cheaper, which in turn allowed skyscrapers (built with steel beams) to be constructed in the cities. St. Louis has several skyscrapers. Write a paragraph of at least 5 sentences saying what you think St. Louis might look like today if the Bessemer process had not been invented? (Hint: Think flat instead of tall.)
