ANSYS in Industrial Equipment
Problem Cost-effectively develop heat exchangers that meet client technical specifications for safety, space, environmental concerns and structural integrity as well as comply with international standards. Solution Model and simulate plate heat exchangers (PHEs) using ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Fluent by employing a 2-D/3-D model for a set of design data and technical specifications. Apply structural, thermal and seismic load case combinations to determine behavior of the PHE so that actual performance in the field can be predicted. Optimize the PHEs with multiphysics simulation from ANSYS. Result GEA manufactured the PHEs to meet technical specification and comply with standards. ANSYS products saved time and costs by shortening the design and development cycle by 86 percent. Performance was ensured and the company reduced the number of prototypes. In addition, the amount of materials required was reduced by 14 percent. CAD model Deformation Structural, CFD, multphysics, Stress ANSYS solutions allowed us to achieve 14 percent material savings and optimize the engineering design for a complex heat exchanger used for industrial and nuclear applications. The heat exchanger development cycle was reduced from two weeks to two days using simulation-driven product development.
